Brainstorming Song Ideas.

The following songs are what we thought about doing for our music video.

• Ke$ha - Tik Tok
• David Guetta - Gettin' Over
• Chase & Status - End Credits
• Miike Snow - Black and Blue
• Portishead - Roads

In the end, we chose to do the Chase & Status song, "End Credits". We chose this song as we found it easier to think of ideas of what to put into the final video. We have only hit one problem, however, and that is to gain copyright to use that particular song. We have blogged the emails we have sent and received from the band. We also chose the Chase & Status song because, even though it is the UK Top 40 music charts, it still a unrecognisable band. We found that Portishead was also an unrecognisable band, but the song "Roads" was too slow and we couldn't really think of any ideas for a music video. All of the the songs listed were too recognisable, and this would have cased problems with gaining copyright, and we also couldn't think of any narrative ideas for any of the other songs in our list, as most of them are electronica/dance songs.

Action Plan.

The action plan that our group has put together is spread out over four weeks.

• First Week (23rd Nov-27th Nov) - This week we have to brainstorm our ideas of songs that we may want to use in our final music video. we shall post the short list and the reasons why we did or didn't use the songs in the final piece. We than have to post blogs on these pages. We than finally have to decide on a song, of which we shall use in our final video, digipak and advert. Finally, we then have to gain copyright (if there is any) to use the chosen song.
• Second Week (30th Nov - 4th Dec) - This week we have to find some previous music videos that has been done by the band that we have chosen. we must complete textual analysis of around two different videos. We than have to complete writing some notes on the song and what we plan to do, and also complete the beat sheet.
• Third Week (7th Dec - 12th Dec) - This week we have to start and complete the storyboard which we shall use to direct the video. We shall most probably use photos as a way of showing the storyboard, as it would make it easier to see it work. we then will complete a shooting schedule and then research directors of other music videos that have been done by the chosen band.
• Fourth Week (14th Dec - 19th Dec) - During this week, we must complete and write up on this blog a history of the music videos done by this artist. We also need to find and make notes on the lyrics of the chosen song. We finally have to complete audience questionnaires on before and after thoughts on the video and what we propose to do.

At this point, we will decide on what else to put into the action plan, and we will later post this new action plan on here :D
